We are delighted to announce that our inspirational chair-woman, Angela Peacock, is nominated for this year’s Outnews Global Inspirational Role Model of the Year award at the prestigious European Diversity Awards!
The European Diversity Awards, which will be held at the Natural History Museum on 29th November 2016, celebrates a business person who is helping develop a culture that allows “the most skilled and talented people to succeed, regardless of gender, race, physical abilities or sexual orientation.”
Here’s Angela in her own words on what the award nomination means to her and the People Development Team…
“I am thrilled and humbled to have been nominated for the award of Inspirational Role Model of the Year at the 2016 European Diversity Awards.
“The organisation I founded and now Chair, the People Development Team, attracted attention when it began some twenty years ago as an all-female run company leading the way in the strategic leadership space. At that time we learnt a lot about exclusion and how our decision making processes can be hijacked by our unconscious biases. PDTGlobal has worked in the inclusion space for almost 10 years now, braking down barriers for others to walk through. We boldly challenge the assumptions of “What Leaders Look like” – extending the questioning to explore every area from background to personality, from gender to age. Recognising that this work needs to drive the strategic conversation,deliver the emotional exploration and then offer the practical has been what has cut us at PDTGlobal apart from the rest. Being one of the first to deliver this work via advanced webinar technology and to design full service long term embedding is why we have built a client base from Microsoft to Dell,European Governments, many of the largest financial service organisations in the world and even global sporting operations.
“For many years I coached and mentored people who had the capability to succeed but had either never been offered the right opportunity, or had been subjected to subtle, debilitating bias that had eaten away at their self-esteem and destroyed their leadership aspirations. I always thought it would stop- now I recognise that working frankly and loudly in this space is what is changing things for our clients.”
