PDT will be facilitating as the insurance profession comes together – hosted by  iWIN – Independent Women In Insurance.  The forum will focus on busting the myths of men and women in the work  Forum on Exploding the Myths: Men & Women in the Workplace.

Beginning with an engaging and lively discussion on the perceived differences between men and women at work, we explode some of the perceptions and myths around male and female brains and the effects of hormones and elements of nurture.

By Using a new definition of diversity, we will take a closer look at our own agentic and communal styles and how these correlate with perceptions of leadership, strength, success, and likability – and critically how these can differ for men, women, introverts, extroverts – any one of perceived difference in the workplace.

We pause to review how we ’ve been shaped up to now, the judgments we consciously and unconsciously make which privilege and exclude others around us – and consider how we can all be more flexible when dealing with difference.

Supported by practical tips to help mitigate, attendees will explore factors that may be seen as barriers to success in the workplace – such as confidence, unhelpful perceptions of flexible working and self-promotion – and are asked to make one personal pledge to promote and support difference in the insurance profession.
