Women's leadership

Organisations with a balanced representation of women and men in senior management report increased engagement & retention, better decision making, improved problem solving and greater creativity & innovation. This in turn leads to enhanced results and competitive advantage. For many organisations, development of the female talent pipeline is a key strategic priority.

How being human at work creates connection and inclusive team-working

There can be a natural tendency to avoid showing vulnerability at work, perhaps for fear it may be seen as a weakness. Yet suppressing vulnerabilities creates pressure for the individual and is ultimately counterproductive for the organisation. This module explores what it means to be vulnerable and how revealing our humanness and creates more effective leadership and builds engagement and inclusion at work.

    We will cover:

    • Vulnerability – what it is: vulnerability vs weakness
    • The ‘perfect’ leader – the role of vulnerability and humility
    • When and where can you show vulnerability
    • What stops you – the emotional loop

Action planning focuses on areas where participants can show vulnerability at work, and how doing so will enhance their leadership practice.
